A New Beginning

Dear North King County Little League parents, players, and supporters,

We hope that the new year finds you all well and excited for the upcoming Little League Baseball/Softball season.  We have exciting news to share for the season, our LL District 8 has worked with us to help bolster our league going forward.  As you may or may not know, our player numbers have been declining (lots of sports choices for the kids) over the past few years and the same thing has been happening to our neighbors across I5 in Richmond LL.  The District approached our leagues with the plan to merge the two, so that we can create a stronger, healthly, more competitive league.

We are letting you all know now as Little League International just approved the merger between Richmond Little League and North King County Little League.

We will now be called Shoreline Little League

As far as how the change will immediately affect the kids, the T-Ball teams and the Minors will continue to be instructional, school-based teams.  Majors and higher will be in a draft, assessed by both LL coaches and could potentially be combined with Richmond LL teams.  We will attempt to keep travel practices to a minimum for the season.  As far as All-Stars goes, all eligible kids can try out and the teams will be selected from the entire pool from the newly formed Shoreline Little League, to compete in the tournament.

Some important decisions still haven't been made, so please bear with us while we work through the details of this merger.

Please keep up on your emails from the league for pertinent information.  If there are any questions regarding this merger, please email Ritu at ritu.shahburnham@hotmail.com

We appreciate your patience and look forward to a wonderful year and new beginnings.

When you are registering your player, please keep in mind that North King County League is a volunteer organization. Throughout the year, our volunteers put in countless hours to give your player a safe and enjoyable environment. We can use and would like any and all help that you can provide. During the registration page you are asked to fill out your information (name, address, etc.). At the bottom is a little box asking about volunteering. Take a moment to consider what you may be able to help with. Selecting this box does not tie you into anything but allows us to let you know about opportunities during the season where you may help the kids.
